Rudra Devotion

Rudra Devotion

Rudra is the best Vedic deity to call on now in the 2020’s and beyond, which is a very difficult and perilous time for the human race.

Devotion (“Bhakti”) to Rudra can:

  • Improve your health and wellness. The ancient Rig Veda says Rudra is the best of physicians, he is the healing deity par excellence.
  • Grant you favors and boons. Rudra is favorably disposed to his devotees and easily grants boons.
  • Protect you from disaster and death. Rudra is Mrityunjaya, the “conquerer of death”, he gives longevity.
  • Increase your energy and productivity. Rudra is fiery and can get your life moving.
  • Increase your courage and confidence.
  • Help you survive the crisis, disaster, and rebirth that human civilization is now undergoing.
  • Give you knowledge of what is True and ultimately Real, which results in liberation and salvation.
  • Give you a tribe of like-minded people, which has existed for thousands of years. We all need the social support that a tribe brings.

Devotion to Rudra is extremely simple, it takes almost no time or effort. It involves just two things:

  • A daily offering of water, which takes just a couple of minutes. (The procedure is described on the Boons webpage).
  • Repetition of any “mantra” involving the name of Rudra, Shiva, or Mrityunjaya. This repetition (Sanskrit “nāma japa”) is done silently in your daily activities, and doesn’t involve meditation or concentration.

The easiest Rudra mantra to do is (in Sanskrit):

Rudra Rudra Jaya Śrī Rudra
Rudra Rudra namo’stu te Rudra
